Here's where you want to take the smooth side of your file and try to remove any "gouges" as well as "refine" the shape of the pipe bowl. You will want to take some extra time where the top part of the bowl meets the bottom part of the bowl. We try to "blend" everything together so that it looks as fluent as possible. In the photo above, you will see the difference in the bottom part of the bowl as opposed to the top part of it. We've gone over the bottom part with the smooth side of the file.

You already have the basic shape of the pipe, so you will not be removing a lot of stone in this step. You will simply be making your pipe bowl "smoother" which will help you when you get to the step that involves sanding the pipe.

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th photo simply shows the pipe, from different angles, after it has been completely gone over with the smooth side of the file.

After you are happy with the way the pipe bowl looks, proceed to "Step 7".
If your pipe bowl is already drilled, you can go directly to "Step 8".
