Catlinite 4-Winds Pipe w/ Pipestone Stem!

The rings and matching designs on this pipe/stem combo were put on the pipe bowl after they had been waxed, which has become a pretty common practice for us, simply because people really seem to like it. It allows you to see the natural color of the stone and provides for a nice contrast in the piece.

The pipestone or catlinite that was used for this pipe and stem is dazzling. It's a beautiful dark red color through most of the pipe and stem, however as you can see on the photo's there are several areas that are a lighter orangeish color. There are also several areas that have 100's of beautiful spots or "stars" sprinkled through them. It's an exceptionally beautiful piece of stone. Spotted stone like the stone used to make this pipe is some of the most sought after stone in the entire world.

The stem is 12-3/8" long and made out of the exact same piece of stone that the pipe bowl was cut out of. The stem has been decorated to match the decorations on the back of the pipe bowl. The stem has excellent draw and this pipe will smoke great! It will make an outstanding pipe for ceremony, but you're going to have to be a little more careful with it because of the stone stem.

There is a small wooden insert between the pipe bowl & stem which hold them tightly together when the pipe is being smoked. The pipe & stem can be separated just like any ceremonial pipe when it is not being used.
